Agreement is a fundamental aspect of improv. We are often instructed to not deny anything in a scene. I wanted to link to an excellent article on this subject titled "The Fundamentals of Agreement":

I learned a lot from this article. What struck me the most was the discussion of differences of opinion. You CAN disagree in improv. Quite often it is funny to do so.
An example of denying:
"I love these pink marshmallows."
"Those are not pink, they are red!"
An example of disagreeing:
"I love these pink marshmallows."
"I hate them!"
In this case of disagreeing, the situation can be elevated by the second person eating the marshmallows anyway. You can then heighten the situation by incorporating the disagreement into the relationship. Maybe peer pressure is in play, or a parent-child relationship at the dinner table.
